Our Services
AlpenAssist Network provides a range of information and coordination services for drivers on Austrian and German roads. The following overview describes what each service entails and what it does not cover.
Information Services
Road Network Information
Detailed guidance on motorway (Autobahn/Autostrada) routes, national roads (Bundesstraße), and regional roads across Austria and Germany. Includes route planning advice, distance estimates, and key junction information.
Toll & Vignette Guidance
Explanation of Austria's motorway vignette system, section-based tolls (e.g., Brenner, Tauern, Arlberg), and Germany's HGV toll system. We clarify which roads require payment and how to obtain the correct pass.
Winter Driving Information
Seasonal tyre regulations, snow chain requirements for mountain passes, and general guidance on driving in winter conditions in the Alpine region. Note: regulations change; always verify with official sources before travel.
Border Crossing Guidance
Information on key road border crossings between Austria, Germany, Italy, Slovenia, Hungary, Czech Republic, and Slovakia, including typical documentation requirements and crossing conditions.
Coordination Services
Roadside Assistance Coordination
When your vehicle breaks down, we help identify and contact appropriate local service providers in your area. We facilitate the connection but do not dispatch our own vehicles.
Towing Referral
We can refer you to towing services operating in your region. Availability and pricing are determined by the third-party provider, not by us.
Travel Disruption Support
If your journey is disrupted by road closures, weather events, or vehicle issues, we provide information on alternative routes and nearby service facilities.
